CaK Disk from Thursday 19th May

Post by marktownley »

Been a busy week at work, and typically when have been at work has been sunny, and then raining or cloudy in the evenings when i'm back at home. Thursday did clear up a bit, and while I was imaging through haze and high cloud, I decided to get out with the 100/800 stopped down to 50mm and the ZWO183 camera for a look in CaK. I was hoping for more, but the clouds came in. Still, nice to get out in the sun, even if only very briefly.

Think I will be lucky if I get anything this weekend, cloud seems to be the only thing on the menu.

Mark

Hi Mark

Astonishing CAK captures, the detail is brilliant

I have a cheap CAK filter from Altair Astro but it does not really work,

Maybe one day

Wonderful shot Mark! I feel your pain about the weather. Seems like we have the same menu here.

Super work Mark!
May I ask, how do you get the sun to be so big on this webpage ? Do you zoom in or do you double the size of your disc in Photoshop ?

Thanks

Magnus

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Sat trying to see if I can get anything in the very brief gaps today, so far, unsuccessfully.

Magnus, the native image size above is 3250 x 3250 pixels, there's lots of acreage on the 183mm. If you double click it, then double click it in flickr, you will get the full size disk.

Nice CaK Mark. You usually excel at such work. I am glad you found you some solar time even if only briefly.
