13 Jun - HA & WL

Post by vineyard »

Been having problems trying to post this so will keep it brief.

Funny morning - clouds moving in two layers 90 degrees to each other (one layer N to S, the other E to W). Made for a frustrating morning of HA until I just started observing the clouds and noticed this strange pattern

Afternoon was better for WL - wonder if seeing stabilised or just a better orientation.

WL image is w a long pass filter. HA images were processed as planet rather than solar as that gave better results in AS3 (less ghosts and juddery shadows - suspect the clouds in the morning may have played havoc w the solar algorithms in AS3).

Cheers

Thanks both Franco & Maurits - v kind. Today has been gorgeous but work all day means no imaging - only a quick few minutes of visual WL. Hope skies are clear for you both too.

Thanks both Arne & Mark. Yes conditions were not great yesterday (it was v funny seeing the clouds moving orthogonally, a bit like being caught in a pincer movement). Today seemed much better but had work pretty much all day so only managed to get a short stint of WL visual w a 4" (it was v nice up to about 111x, but became v mushy from 200x onwards so maybe the seeing wasn't that great after all?). Cheers
