Full disk on June 13 (2 treatments)

Post by gabrieli »

Awful seeing today caused poor higher res images that were not worth posting. The full disk images with my LS80 gave me some hope for good results. My old Grasshopper 6.0 Mp has started to lose its connection lately (may be a cord problem) and so I've been using a less old ASI 1600 for full disks. This camera will produce great mosaics with only 2 panels where my Grasshopper needed 4 panels at the same 1120 mm efl. When I first started using the 1600, I made the mistake of first making a mosaic out of the unsharpened panels and then trying to load the resulting panorama as one huge file (upwards of 67Mb) which could not be loaded.

Full res versions can be viewed at

The uploading issue resolved over night and so here are the original posts

These look nice Lou! I can never view your 'full size' images at the size I think you're uploading them - I get a few thousand pixel wide version, max, that's it. I might be doing something wrong? But I do click on the links and follow all the prompts to expand etc.

Thanks for the comment and question, Mark.

I'm wondering whether there is a limit to the displayed resolution. At one time you could keep clicking the image for full resolution. Before they changed their interface, this website (Deviant Art) used to have a download button beside each image that definitely would download a full resolution version since it sometimes would not fit on the screen. I can't find that feature now. The images on this posting are described as 4659x4624px 13.83 MB which is obviously not what you are getting. Let me dig into this a while and see if I can find the download feature and I'll comment on it on my next post.

A download button appears below the image on the right side but unlike before requires (free) registration to enable downloads. Hopefully this works for you.

Lou
