Sol FD WL 2022.06.15
After some rain and clouds and home renovation work, I had the chance to do some WL imaging this morning before work.
Quite busy up there and loving it! Crossing fingers that come ISS transit on the 22nd (yes, that's still on), it will still be quite busy

Explore Scientific 80mm FCD-1 Triplet with 1.75x Siebert Telecentric and ASI183.
Image is not as sharp as I would like, as there were thin clouds. But, I'll take anything I am given with gratitude

Re: Sol FD WL 2022.06.15
The only "issue" I face is one of reduced contrast, due to the time I take my SER files - usually at 07:00. At that time, the sun is only 16° up in altitude, which means I am imaging through junk.
To expand, one said that everything between the eyepiece / camera and the target is junk. One should try to minimize junk, be it quality of lenses / mirrors, quality of camera / eyepieces, atmosphere and whatever gung floats up there etc....
At an altitude of 16° the thickness of the atmosphere is much more due to the low angle Vs if I could image at my preferred time window of 09:30 to 10:30 when the sun is much higher (50° at 10:00), thermals are still low, and due to higher altitude, less atmosphere to image through.
But again, I am grateful that I have the building roof at my disposal and the luxury of being able to do quick imaging runs before work. It only takes 15 minutes to grab gear, hit the roof, setup, take video, pack up and be downstairs and then my slave (laptop) does the grunt work!
Kudos to SkyWatcher for the SolarQuest mount. I set it up and then walk to a shaded place on the roof to switch on laptop and then walk back and plug in to the camera. Alignment takes a huuuuge 1.5 - 2 minutes
