June 19 2022 Imaging session!

Post by DeepSolar64 »

My session time was from 15:30 until 16:40 UTC. The skies were mostly clear but had some high clouds. The seeing is below average and the temperature at session's end is 76F ( 24.4C )

I imaged today using the SMII90 in both SS and DS in Ha and with the C102 in WL. I used my Windows 8.1 laptop with the ZWO ASI178MM monochrome camera. SharpCap was used for image acquisition and AVIStack for image stacking. GIMP and Paint.net was used for editing/processing.

I hope you guys and gals like them.

James

Thanks Martin. For some reason I seem to do better with imaging proms than I do the disc. I think it's because I can focus easier on the proms. I usually image proms first now and focus using them.

I used RGB curves in GIMP to do the coloring.

Here's the setup.

Nice captures James, they came out well. The sun looks pretty high in the sky at the time.

Thanks everyone. I really had fun. I like imaging when I have the time to stack and process all the files. It takes a bit more time than visual does. And Mark the Sun was quite high in the sky at the time. I observed a bit longer and later on Saturday and it was even more so. It would seem really high to you since I am south of you on the globe. Think, Rainer and Eric probably see it at or close to the zenith!!

Nice images! I really like the proms. Temp in the mid 70s? Man that must be nice. I attempted to sketch at 630 last night and the heat index was 97!!! I may need to switch to EAA and sit inside until the heat bubble goes away:)

Wowsers, you are hot! Where are you located? Mid week we are forecast to heat back up.

Thanks for the compliments. I really liked the proms too. For some reason I seem to do better on proms than I do the disc.

Thanks everyone. I need to image while I can. It's much easier to to in the warm summer months than in the cold of winter. And yes, practice should see improvement.

It's been a bit hotter here than typical though the last couple of days have been nice.

My favourites are the prom silhouettes and the WL (esp as those are the types of imaging I struggle w the most). Btw the 2nd image colouring reminded me of the Ukraine flag!
