Huge filament at solar limb and AR13038 in Ha (RCT)
I thought I'd give the 250mm RCT a run this morning. As is almost always the case, the seeing conditions were barely good enough. I also imaged using my 150mm refractor. AR13038 was my main target, but I noticed the awesome filament close to the limb, projecting off the limb into the darkness of space (a filaprom) which I imaged on my 150.
Here are the resulting images:

Thanks for looking.

Awesome, that 250mm looks like a loot of fun with that ds arrangement.

Hi Stu,
Very nice images with your 150mm DS cannon! I believe you already have reached the limits of a 6" aperture. I also believe that this is a good reason to go further with more persistence and use and use and use your main caliber - the 10" RC! Earlier or later you will reach the limit here too. The last photo with the 10" shows that you are very near the goal. The seeing just teasing with you. But you will overcome it!

Re: Huge filament at solar limb and AR13038 in Ha (RCT)
Thanks, Valery. For sure I need more practice with the RCT. As the saying goes, ‘practice makes perfect’. It would be nice if the conditions cooperated to help things along.Valery wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 10:30 am Hi Stu,

I just picked up on the fact that you imaged with an RC. Maybe you have already posted pics of that setup but I would be curious to see how you have that configured.
