23.06.2022 A new level of incompetence!

Post by Rusted »

The seeing was very soft and mobile. As usual, I persevered for hours in the hope of lucky moments.
The late afternoon brought some slight improvement in steadiness but none of the hoped for clarity.
I lost my original images overnight from my laptop. So I had to download them from my blog to post them here.

Hey, it happens. It's a good thing you posted them to your blog. These look good. Not over sharpened but natural.

Thank you all for your kind words. :bow

The sheer volume of data from a high speed camera, like the ZWO174MM, used for hours each session, really eats into the memory.
I swapped the original HDD in my laptop to two, large, internal SSDs but I still hate deleting stuff. :D

BTW: Those struggling with PST sweet spots, in larger aperture mods, should add "refocusing" the etalon slightly as part of their set-up/focusing routine. Only 2mm difference in position transformed my own images from hideously unbalanced to merely incompetent. :D

Nice images, Chris. We all have IT issues, so you’re not alone.

Nice shots Chris, that filaprom looks ghostly being able to see the limb through the filaprom portion!

Than you Warren. :bow

I was trying to assemble two or more images into one [for the filaprom] using MS ICE but it refused to play.
Claimed my images weren't taken from the same viewpoint. :D

Thanks to all who responded so positively. :bow

I don't see my images as particularly good.
Certainly not in comparison with some of the great work posted here.
So all the encouragement keeps me going back to the telescope.
I like to think that my humble efforts will encourage others to post their results.
How bad can they possibly be if I dare to post my "daubs?" :D
