Mostly proms from July 3

Post by gabrieli »

The LS60MT, whose etalon I intend to use in some mods, finally arrived after waiting since January. I do have a way of using a PST adapter to attach the etalon to a 2" receptacle but it would cause difficulty reaching the right in focus with refractors. I have an adapter on order which will be more appropriate. In the meantime, I'll try it with a 180mm Mak since I can dial into the right in focus. I'll focus the Mak until the focus point gives me a focus point far enough out of the tube to accomodate the etalon/focuser module.

I have used the LS60MT for viewing and imaging. Viewing is something I haven't done for a long time and gave a very impressive view of a filament. The first image I took with the scope is a single image of a full disk at 840 mm.

The other inages used an LS152 with a Quark.
