A minor geomagnetic storm occurred overnight (UTC) which was detected on my back yard magnetometer operating here in the UK.
Here are the data, shown as declination and rate of change in arbitrary units (uncalibrated). I use data from the Intermagnet network to scale accordingly.
Things seem to have settled down for now.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Thanks Stu! I clocked an alert on my phone and wondered if you'd got it. Thanks for sharing the results.

Hi Rainer,
It’s a pity. The good news is that all the additional steelworks at home haven’t affected the detection capability of my sensor, so that bodes well for your location. The main thing is there shouldn’t be any extraneous variable magnetic fields from, for example, power lines. I’d say it’s worth you investing in a flux gate sensor.

Rainer (or anyone else interested), here’s a link to a new manufacturer of the original FGM3 sensor (updated and improved).
