Animation of the SE Limb and a flare on 7/4/2022

Post by rigel123 »

Catching up finally! I didn't realize I had caught this flare in the vicinity of that wonderful filaprom that there have been some great shots of recently. This is 45 minutes in real time and as soon as the original finished I started capturing another for the inverted version of that prom. The filaments also put on a pretty good show. Lunt LS60T DS, ASI174MM, Meade 3X TeleXtender Both have been rotated 90 degrees CW for viewing.

Always love your cinema Warren! How do you sharpen your images? Have you tried at a smaller radius? You might squeeze some finer detail out.

Thanks Arne, Mark and James! Mark, I typically take it to where it appears too sharp in ImPPG to me and then back off a little bit. I think where I might need to focus at times is a bit more contrast particularly on the disk. Balancing the contrast on the disk and bringing out the proms is the biggest challenge. I should play with a bit smaller radius and see what happens.
