Hello all: this morning a brief session before the heat wave set in. Temperatures in the low to high 90's here, lasting for the next few days. Seeing was average. Nice to see the large prom was visible in Calcium.

Very nice CaH imagery Franco. Your CaH competes with CaK in every way.
Nice CaK proms too!!

Great shots Franco! It was a hot one here as well. Heat index hit 105 today. My son and his family are moving to Ridgefield, CT next month.

Re: Calcium Sun Juy 20, 2022
Franco,
And look how those plages trail those spots!! CaH shows this extremely well. I need to get a CaH, CaK or even a wider band K-Line filter like the Antlia wedge. Something I can use to follow lower-level plage or faculae deep into the disc which white light even with my 540nm filter won't do. Faculae and plage and their relation to sunspots fascinate me. Ha of course does wonderfully following plage within the main body of the chromosphere. I do however feel that CaH, CaK and continuum adds to this study and gives a better picture of the understanding of these features with the sunspots and their magnetic fields which drives them.

Re: Calcium Sun Juy 20, 2022
Thank you all for your comments. Warren: I know Ridegfield well, it is a very nice small town in Fairfield County, a beautiful place to live. About 40 minutes from Westport where we are. Calcium filter: I really like the resolution you can get even with a small scope. That makes it easy to image more frequently as a small set up is easy to work with and less involved.
