Greetings to all lovers of the Sun from Zcechia.
I tried two modifications of the LUNT LS80THa solar telescope.
The first is on the AR150/F6 Individual and the second on the AR90/F10 with the LS80DSII module.
The AR150 has a frontal Baader D-ERF 160mm and a primary etalon DS80 with its own ERF filter.
The AR90 has a DSII etalon and a LUNT 2" interbal ERF filter.
I think both systems are good to use.
The mount is a light EQ-HD with harmonic gearboxes of our own design.
Sorry for my poor english.
Some sample.

That looks to be a great mod that is producing great results.

Re: Mod Lunt LS80 on AR150/F6 and AR90/F10
Primary etalon LS80 and AR150/F6 is an ideal combination. DSII and AR90/F10 is already a compromise in terms of collimation lens, but when using Barlow 2-5x it gives very good results.
I am going to convert N200 F4-F8 with D-ERF 180 and Quark, possibly LS80DSII. I'm curious to see what results I'll get.

Looking good! I'm curious about the adapter between LS80 etalons and AR150/F6. These are custom made I assume?

Re: Mod Lunt LS80 on AR150/F6 and AR90/F10
Yes, the adapter is self-made. It is a cylinder with a holder for a 2" ERF filter into which the etalon is inserted and screws are secured around the perimeter. The ERF filter is tilted by approx. 7 degrees.
I design and manufacture CNC machines, so I have machinery. I also manufacture mounts with harmonic gearboxes.
It is my hobby.
My latest crazy idea. Newton 400mm with uncoated mirror on my largest HD mount. Unfortunately, I don't have a suitable mirror yet.

Re: Mod Lunt LS80 on AR150/F6 and AR90/F10
Does anyone know the exact difference in the optical properties (schema) of the etalon LS80THa and LS80THaDSII. They have a different diameter, that's obvious, but what about collimating optics?

That mount is gorgeous!
The collimating optics should be the same in both - they work at f7.

Re: Mod Lunt LS80 on AR150/F6 and AR90/F10
Thank you for your opinion.
On the forums, opinions on the similarity of the etalons are quite different. In principle, however, they should be the same, even if the AR150/F6 is affected by the smaller internal diameter of the DSII.
