Hi,
How did you focus despite the cloud ? I tried recently with a Quark chromosphere and 90mm F10 refractor and could not find focus!

How do you take flats when there is cloud around ?

Thanks

Magnus

Hi Magnus, the clouds were quite thin so simply focusing on the limb was sufficient as the atmosphere was quite stable. As to flats, I simply move the image to a fairly blank area of the sun and defocus until the view is totally featureless except for variations in brightness and of course any remaining Newton Rings and then take 200 images for the flat.
