Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids July 2022

Post by Carbon60 »

Supposedly peaking last night (30th), my meteor radar data actually show the peak of the 'combination meteor shower' to have occurred on the 28th. Looking on RMOB, Rainer, I think you saw the same thing

Here are my data collected over the entire month (albeit with a short gap). There's a build up from 25th/26th and clear peak in hourly rate on 28th.

Interesting Stu. Thanks for sharing. I was contemplating a boat trip to the middle of nowhere for the perseids if clear but then realised it's full moon. Ofcourse it would have to be clear too for visual.

Thanks, Mark. It's always a bit of a lottery with the weather

Hi Stuart,

Just checked the July statistics and as you said we have matching behaviour. Have you checked today's results ? Again a high rate at 06:00 UTC ...

BTW, the Perseids are coming on August 13th

I don't see the same uptick, but that's not to say there wasn't one. It might just have been a little late for the transmitter from my location. Interestingly there does seem to be a double peak today.
