Hello all: yesterday in the great heat a visitor stopped by, probably exhausted. It stayed for about 30 minutes in the shade, then flew away.

He is beautiful :hamster: sunlight has been falling on his unchanged body for millions of years, a true survivor :)

Thank you Alexandra and Rainer. I am not sure, I thought it was a dragonfly but maybe a damsefly ? I never heard of damselflies before.

I think he is a dragonfly as his wings are horizontal not vertically held, also his eyes are round and not on a horizontal bar.

Hi,

In order to wipe out any doubt it is a Dragonfly. Yellow black striped body and blue tail ;) Look at the black spots on the upper wing end tail.

Franco, Damselflies are easy to recognize as they can fold their wings backwards aligned with their body while Dragonflies can not.
