Spectacular! I saw the notice regarding this on spaceweather.com

So how far "open" is your slit when you make these observations?

aprox 1mm - 2mm
max open is 3mm

well done again!!!

have you tried using a diaphragm in front of the imaging lens to get sharper images and more contrast ? It can work really well .

no
do you place diaphragm/iris inside imaging scope or actually just before objective?

I placed if just in front of the lens that forms the image of the spectrum on the CCD . It wont be like a proper Lyot stop but it will help getting a sharper image and even enhancing the general contrast.
