Sunday August 7th - a short session
Hi all...
Settled into my second session this morning after coming back from holiday, but the skies became more cloud than sun so I did not bother with trying higher res work. The clouds offered more options to try again mid afternoon, but it was 35C (40C wit the humidity factored in), so I opted out of more work in the sun
I did one FD in WL and a composite in Ha. Both used the ASI1600MM camera and the WL was imaged with the Orion EON 130ED OTA, and the Ha was imaged through the LS80T/S75FHa/B1800Ha solar scope with a 1.6x barlow in the camera nosepiece: I opted to install the flooring in the new observatory this afternoon and have it pretty much ready to move scopes into it. I did a bit of exterior painting Saturday too. Main job now is to dismantle the old dome. I guess I will have time to work on it this week as both Sandy and I have tested positive for COVID...extended holiday

Re: Sunday August 7th - a short session
Brian,
Your white light image is very comparable with the resolution I was getting visually with my C102 at 100x.
Oh crap! COVID. I hope you and Sandy well soon. If you feel like it utilize the time to do more solar work.

Re: Sunday August 7th - a short session
Arne and Mark...
Thanks for your feedback and best wishes...always appreciated
I look at Covid from two angles...with a compromised immune system (Type 1 diabetic) I have been fortunate not to have caught it till now. My work requires me to be out in the fields and meeting (carefully ) and credit masks and vaccines for this success.
Like most, I too am fatigued with the whole situation and I guess that at some point we have to accept it, but fear for the bogged down health care system. I accept some limitation, like wearing masks on planes...it is well advertised before spending 2 minutes inside the doors. Our flight home was delayed 1/2 hr to leave the plane due to 2 individuals who refused to put their masks back on after takeoff...Ill call it selfishness, but it cost a few hundred people time to wait to have the cops show up. Ok, Ill step down form the soap box now
Brian
