Solar Prominences for August 9

Post by Solbrillante »

Four images of Solar prominences are included in this post which are currently on show around the Solar disk. The proms are not as spectacular as the one on show last week but they were interesting to view, nonetheless.
All images are taken in Hydrogen Alpha on August 9. The filter used was a Daystar Quark Prominence filter attached to a C11. The imaging camera was a ZWO174MM.
Again, I worked under clear blue skies ahead of a cold front with more winter rainfall to follow tomorrow. Seeing was poor with the Sun continuously dancing about on the screen. One thing is certain though my C11 corrector plate is badly in need of a clean and I need to work out the best way to clean it. Thanks for viewing.

Gerard

:bow Pure beauty.

I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Thanks again guys for your positive comments.

Alexandra the images in question were taken on a C11 with a 90mm off axis ERF using a Daystar Quark Prominence Filter.

Regards,
Gerard
