Aug 11 2022 - Testing a D-ERF

Post by Simon2940 »

Checking out a new potential low cost D-ERF. The idea is to get the cost for a 6" down to a more affordable level.

So far the tests have been good and no signs of gradients, distortion or interference.

Each cell will be custom fit to the scopes which will be included in the pricing.

Hi Simon,
What is this DERF and who manufactures it?
How much does this cost, and can I get one D-ERF to fit 60 mm to 120mm refractors ? ( to avoid buying 4 expensive D-ERF) costings hundreds or thousands of dollars (US).

Thanks
Magnus

The DERF will be sold by a company called Astro Hutech based in Los Angeles. Each cell will be custom made to fit your specific scope/dew shield.

The price point we are aiming for is $800 for a 6" including the DERF and holder. Smaller ones being cheaper.

As for sizes, most likely they will be 6 5 and 4 inches, whatever aperture size you want up to 6"

Im pretty sure that shipping will be world wide, you'll just have to deal with customs

It's the same d-erf filter that Ali sells.
But the price is cheaper than Ali.
