Hi
Yesterday after a bit of imaging whilst on holiday in Wales UK I started packing away, camera, leads and computer. Then put the bino head back on for a final look and noticed the image was a little off band on one side so went to re tune and the light was out, my little USB battery pack had turned off.
Wondering how long it had been off I disconnected it and left the setup tracking for fifteen mins, still the same image so went to the car temperature gauge and it was reading 37.4 °C.
Back to the scope, setup the camera, boot up the computer and fire capture, Then take an image.
It was like this for another hour till the sun went behind the trees, I then went for a paddle in my canoe to watch the sun set and cool off.
Just thought I would show this out of interest, it is hot here in the UK and the hottest we have had for many years.
Cheers Rod

Re: My Quark on a hot day
Nice post Rod. Enjoy the heat, here in Australia we look forward to winter so we can cool down for a few months.

Re: My Quark on a hot day
Hi Thanks all for having a look.
I just thought it was interesting that as global temperatures change then we are all going to have to re calibrate our mica heated etalons or buy new ones to work in the new temperature ranges.
The chromosphere image above was taken without the Quark heated, no power plugged in, just ambient air temperature heating the Quark.
This leaves me with no control over the etalon tuning in these high temperatures.
Back of holiday now and the weather is due to change to rain again maybe summer is over now and I will be OK
Cheers Rod
