Sunday Session 14-08-22

Post by Martin_S »

Saturday was a rain day so I spent the day in the shed modding my Solar Scope. I made a support for my image train and a direct drive motorised focuser, as on my belt driven focuser the belts would go slack in the Aussie Sun and slip. The mods worked out well. The long image train stays true with no sag.

A nice clear day in Brisbane today, so I set up my Quark for some hi Res imaging of a few active regions, the seeing was not that great due to gusty winds and upper atmosphere turbulence, here are my results.

Thanks, Mark and Maurits, here's a close up of the support ring , the nylon screws are a lose fit to allow the image train to move back and forth during focusing.
