Sunday Sun in Ha 14th August 2022

Post by Carbon60 »

Very hazy sky this morning, but still okay for some hi-res work on the 150 mm scope operating at about f34. The seeing conditions (nearly as always) limited the quality of the images, but overall things turned out okay.

150 mm refractor
Double stacked Lunt 35s
2.5x PM
Basler acA1920-155 um
Genika Astro image capture
AS!3 stacking
ImPPG deconvolution and sharpening
PixInsight refining

A tour around the main active regions:

...and the main proms:

With deteriorating conditions and thickening cloud over the wrong part of the sky I called it a day.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

These are stunning Stuart :bow :bow :hamster:

I need to get my act together, my brain in gear and get back into solar again now I feel great again. This weekend would have been fabulous but I had a visit to Birmingham to visit a friend yesterday and today the hubby had plans (chores before the heat of the day) :(

Great to hear you're feeling much better, Alexandra.
Sometimes other plans just get in the way of solar imaging. Our build project scuppers anything during the week except for the weekend, so, sunny days Monday to Friday are just a frustration, hence my images from yesterday and today. It's still quite a building site and I'm struggling to find space to set up properly. I'll be glad when it's all finished and things can get back to normal. Probably we'll have a month of rain then.

Fantastic picture.

I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Great images there Stu, I was plagued by the haze too on Sunday morning, just plain old cloud here today.
