Re: Remote pressure WiFi controler for LUNT LS60-150
The first test of the regulator turned out great. Fine-tuning the pressure with visual control on a large monitor is the ideal solution. The optimal pressure is maintained with an accuracy of 0.1 PSI and subsequently stored in the controller's memory. The next time I observe, I just hit the Restore button and I'm right in the H-alpha band. My experience is that the etalons will not hold the pressure because the seal is not good, so they need to be adjusted often. The regulator solves this to my complete satisfaction. The week spent developing the regulator paid off handsomely.

Nice work!
I'm interested
to see how you connect the tuner to your remote system.

I have a NUC on mount, that's why I use USB. The second option is control via WiFi. During the test, I used manual control with buttons on the panel and a 10m pressure hose to the etalon.

Re: Remote pressure WiFi controler for LUNT LS60-150
Hello,
Great job, a very interesting and necessary project! I also often noticed that during a long session the strip moves out (temperature or poor tightness).
Can you describe the pneumatic circuit in more detail? How did you manage to avoid air strikes? using a receiver and valve system? But if the engine is pumping the receiver on and off, then how is the pressure regulated in a closed system (when the engine is turned off and the receiver is full)?
Ivan

Re: Remote pressure WiFi controler for LUNT LS60-150
The most important thing is the sufficient volume of the air reservoir. With sufficient size, pressure changes are gradual and regulation is +- 0.1PSI. However, even changes of +-0.5 PSI are not detectable by eye.
The system is simple. The pump increases the pressure and the discharge valve decreases it. A quality Honeywell 0-30 PSI pressure sensor with an error below 1% is important.

I love the idea. I am trying to make a similar solution for the Sundancer2, but I can't program.
Please keep us updated. Maybe we can create a commercial solution (of course with you on board)?
