Great to see you all and again I’ve learned something new.
Loved your presentation Brian, seeing how your observatory and equipment have developed over time. Great idea Alexandra to invite a speaker to some meetings. For me, it’s as interesting getting to know the people behind Solarchat accounts as seeing their images. You kind of get a sense of regular contributors, but hearing them speak, including how they got started, is lovely. I’d also be interested to hear from a professional solar astronomer/scientist about their work/research too. I’m not sure whether anyone on the forum would like to?! I could always do a presentation on how NOT to image ha ha!
I also wonder whether your maple syrup is available to buy online Brian and whether you ship to the UK?!
Nic

Many many thanks Brian :bow :bow :bow I really liked the joke by Michael when Brian said his first observatory was in the cow field. The cows were interested in observing the Moooon  not sure whether you caught that Brian :)

Yes Pedro, you were next on my list ask :hamster: would you be able to do a tour of your wonderful collection of telescopes etc? it will be the second Sunday of October (9th October) at 18:00UTC. That's interesting, I will be on holiday so I hope the internet is good :)

I always enjoy the meetings everyone.

Nice observatory Brian. Nice C14 too!!

And I would love to see your scope collection and observatories Pedro. You have got a nice collection of classic refractors and an old Criterion Dynamax 8 SCT that I would love to see. Scopes that I longed for back in the 70s.

Hi all...

Great session on Sunday...always enjoy the discussions and as close to in person meetings that we can have in practical terms!

I appreciate the positive comments on my presentation and the setup I have...means a lot from all of you. I did see the comment about the Mooon, but did not catch it till near the end. I did not see that screen with the dual monitor setup.

As for syrup, I do not have an online 'store', but can ship...Nic, I will PM you about the syrup.

I am really looking forward to Pedro's presentation next month. It is the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend...hope I can squeeze some time away to join in.

A question for Alexandra...can a 'folder' be setup to keep a record of the monthly recordings and posts? I seem to loose them after a few days and it would be a handy way to be able to find the material and keep record of them meetings in one place. Just a thought.

Brian

I could add them to the SPOD archive like I do with the monthly imaging? it could be an easier way to find them. What do you think?

Hi Alexandra...

Location isn't critical, so long as we know where to look...a separate archive or included in another like you mentioned. I have no idea what it takes to setup and maintain this sort of thing, so I leave it to those in the know to manage it without a lot of extra work ;)

HI ALEXANDRA,
WHY NOT START A NEW PAGE FOR AND AS THE -

"ZOOM MEETING ARCHIVES" WHICH CAN ALSO INCLUDE OTHER RELEVANT YOUTUBE VIDEOS..

AT LEAST KEEPING SEARCHING FOR THESE IMPORTANT ITMES - IN JUST THE ONE PLACE.

LIKE "SOLAR REFERENCE LIBRARY" FOR EXAMPLE ???

TERRY
