Test of the new Player One Saturn M solar camera

Post by pupak »

Terrible conditions, wind and bad seeing, but I finally got a few minutes to test the camera. No flat and out of band, I still believe the Saturn will be an excellent solar camera.

Looking good, please post more test results when you can! This is the camera I have been eyeballing myself too.

Looks great, I pulled trigger on ASI 1600 earlier but this one looks to be better and faster...overlooked it because it was not in PO's solar part of the offers, go figure.

Hi Pupak,

So is the Saturn camera designed especially for imaging the planet Saturn ?

I'm a bit confused by the PO literature for this camera. They repeatedly say it's a 1" format but show the sensor as 11.3 x 11.3 mm in size. What am I missing?

The seller lacks correctness, you are missing nothing. it's just a marketing term. 11.3 x 11.3 mm is right.
