9-17 150 achromat + Ca DS and Ha SS and DS

Post by torsinadoc »

I had decent seeing yesterday and wanted to work on my Ha DS (Daystar+ PST). I am not excited about the combination (FOV due to PST). For Ha I wanted to test both the powermate 4x and TZ-4 (with correct spacing). The DS images are with the Powermate and not TZ4. I hope conditions allow me to test the Tz4 DS today. I also played with the player one M Max and ZWO 174 (to push resolution). Even masked this scope is not close to my 102/f11 for Cak imaging. Lesson learned.

Cak
150/1200 refractor (masked to 60) Lunt DS module Full Disk (ZWO 1600) and close up (ZWO 290)

For Ha I wanted to test both the powermate 4x and TZ-4 (with correct spacing)

Very very good results with your tests Alan. I like the TZ-4 but have not tried it yet in Ha: it works well in CaH.

Alan,
You had a VERY good imaging session here. I especially noticed the bright points in the CaK images within the active regions.

Superbly done, absolutely enviable!!

You got a lovely set of images here Alan.

It's surprising the variablility in the performance of scopes when imaging in CaK ;)

Thanks everyone.

I have considered re-spaceing the lens but rarely would I image >100mm so for now I will stick with the 102/F11 achromat in CaK.

Thanks for the compliments. Petrus I am considering changing from Daystar PST mod to daystar Lunt 40 to see if that provides a better option.
