9_25_22 AR 3107, 3105 Celestron 150 F8 DS Ha

Post by torsinadoc »

Conditions were challenging with wind and only brief periods of good seeing (improved as the morning progressed (after 10 am). I am still testing my DS set up. The daystar is interesting. To be on band (to my poorly trained eye) with my 102 F11 (3xtelecentric) it is set at 656.26 and the 150 F8 refractor is best at 656.22 (at F32 with 4x tele centric). My PST tuning is getting better. I used my Apollo M max.

Processed in ImPPG and PI. I wanted to test neutral gamma and gamma capture. I will need to test further because human error with FOV, etc. I resampled by 75%

Fantastic! I'm curious...why would you otherwise capture with gamma not neutral (not off)?

Great images. The first one displays a wonderful, almost 3D effect.

Thanks. It has taken some time to get this set up dialed in.

Excellent series of images, Alan

I like both SS and DS.

BTW What is your Quantum bandwidth? Is it PE or SE type?

Thanks. It is a PE .32 however for DS mode I use F30-F33. The above SS was taken at F32 so it wasn't anywhere near .32A
