Ha Full Disk 1st October

Post by marktownley »

I had a busy day on Saturday with one thing and another, but I optimistically looked forward to an ISS transit just after 1600ut with blue skies with fluffy white clouds. The transit would have been 2.5 seconds duration with the centreline running exactly down the middle of the garden, alas at the time of transit a cloud typically sat squarely infront of the sun.

I was using the DS50 setup with a 'new' Beloptik ITF filter in my BF15, this positively gave me an exposure time of 5ms compared to my usual 6ms with this setup, so happy with that. I did take a full disk prior to the transit as below, but no time after as we were heading out with friends to a restaurant and everyone was waiting for me.

Either way, pleased with how this came out. Optimistic I might get some clear(ish) skies later on today as the forecast rain seems to have passed to the south of me. Fingers crossed!

Mark
