FD and animations from 10/4/2022
If only, how many times do we ask ourselves that! If only I had started 15 minutes earlier I could have caught the entire flare sequence at AR3113 this morning that measured M1.6. As it is I caught it just before peak and as it waned itself away! The flare shows starting at 12:44 UTC and I started capturing at 13:02. You may notice a filament rise and fall and near the end a very sharp spike surge shoot out of the spot. Also did an animation of the SW limb and the best part is watching the filament on the left stretch out and nearly disappear back into the surface of the sun. Both animations are 1 hour in real time. Seeing was not the best as shown in the SSM graphs, but still manageable! Lunt LS60T DS, ASI174MM, Meade 3X TeleXtender for the animations.

SSM graph during the capture, yellow line depicts when I started my capture. Flare graph from NOAA (Curious how they assign which line to represent the maximum of the flare. In this case it appears to be the GOES-17 line) Animation of the SW limb (passing clouds caused some flickering to the image)

Re: FD and animations from 10/4/2022
Nice on all, Warren. One of the filaments shows considerable movement on the last animation.
