25/10/22 Regio 13131 - 13126
Today more clouds than anything else...
A few days ago I wanted to compare a "reducer" and the "tele-compressor", but the weather conditions prevented this from happening together.
As mentioned in the previous post I had too much tilt in the tilter with bad focus on the sides.
So today just after the eclipse a new try to compare ... same settings ...
I believe the results are very close, I don't see much difference, maybe you can see something more, let me know please what you prefer.
SolarSpectrum 0.7A/DS
Daystar 0.5x reducer
ZWO tilter
ASI174MM camera
No flats
SolarSpectrum 0.7A/DS
Tele-compressor 0.4x
ZWO tilter
ASI174MM camera
No flats

Franco, it's the same setup but on my tilter I have less tilt as before.
With less tilt the image is a lot more uniform and I believe more sharp on the corners and sides, at least what I see.

Yes Warren really better on the sides.
I would like to evaluate the results between the use of the reducer and the tele- compressor.

What, no eclipse photos
These are all tremendous Maurits, I think if I had anything half as good as these I would be cheering from the mountain tops

Thanks Alexandra for the feedback, it's unfortunately I came home just after the eclipse, just like the previous time

Thanks Mark, I came to the conclusion that the Daystar 0.5x reducer has more even images

Thanks Aaron for the feedback and the attention to search details.StarHugger wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 3:15 pm These are really nice Maurits and I looked at them carefully noticing only that limb detail seems better with the reducer but likely due to the lower mag, think your good!
I have the same conclusion, with the reducer the area around the limb is sharper and the center is more even.
