Mars Lunar Occultation - first look

Post by KMH »

Most of the evening looked about like this, at best (after the rain stopped!)

Fortunately we got crazy lucky with some gaps in the clouds and were able to see about half of the ingress, and all of the egress. Conditions weren't objectively great, but considering the circumstances they were fantastic and I think we about used up our astro luck for the year. Below are just single frame screen shots. Processed images will follow (eventually!).

Well done!!! :bow :bow :bow

I did notice Mars close to the Moon yesterday evening and this morning when I set off for work it was so close and I wondered whether there had been an occultation earlier in the morning :hamster:
