Sun FD in H-Alpha 7th of December 2022
Dear friends,
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I was able to image the Sun again today during my lunchbreak. The winter Sun is quite low, just ~8 degrees altitude from my high latitude of 60degrees North, and the imaging window very short.
Lots of nice activity on the disc and some impressive prominences!
Click on images to view them in full size on AstroBin.
FD image in H-Alpha using a Coronado 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ASI 178mm mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
Best regards,
Arne

Nice disks Arnie, like that color you have there. Your limb image really shows the extent of those towering proms, bravo!

Lovely images Arnie. At 8 degrees altitude, we would have to demolish our neighbour's house
You've caught that SW prom really well.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, everyone!
Only 8 degrees elevation and -6 degrees C is not the perfect conditions for solarimaging, but after all the weeks with clouds, rain and snow, I'm just glad I was able to do another session this year.
Best regards,
Arne
