Ursid Meteors 2022

Post by Wyvern »

Hi to all,
Hope Santa brought you all the presents you wanted....!!!
Just a quick report on the Ursid meteors for 2022. Taking a background "noise" or rate of around 50 pings/hr, I see a maximum occurring around 04h UT on the 21st rather than the predicted max around 22h UT on the 22nd. The IMO notes two possible filament and dust encounters on the 22nd at 10h 21m and 14h 22m respectively. There may be a faint uptick around 11h and 15h on my heatmap that "could" represent these encounters, or maybe I'm just looking too hard at the numbers!
Anyway, best wishes to you all,
Les

Hi Les,

I just checked my RMO as well as the one in USA which I use as reference and yes there was some activity but not very high. You can see a faint color increase in the colorgrammes of both stations.
