Large Prom

Hi All...

Just a heads up to anyone with the sun visible in their sky...I was out here late morning (EST) and there was a very large prom in the north that appeared to be very complex and twisted.

I'm unsure how long it will last but take a look if you get the chance.

Clouds obscure the Sun for me today. I'll check out GONG and see what it shows. Thanks for the alert Mr. Colville. :-)

Alexandra, I did not see anyone post it form earlier time zones, but it was pretty impressive. I wish I had starter with Ha today, but I started in WL and CaK and by the time I went to Ha the sun had almost dropped below my slit opening

I lucked out and got the Sun using the 8x32s a short time ago. That don't help me see a prominence in Ha though.

The enhanced image form Alexandra shows it pretty well, but it think it is cut off a bit at the top. It was very obvious in the DS LS80T visually...working on processing today shots to see how they came out.

It was faint Brian, but as you stated very complex. I managed a 90 minute animation.

Just getting the videos form this morning processed now, but this is a crop of the north disk with the prom.

My Ha images are very poor form the session since the sun had half disappeared behind the lower dome slit opening...pity since that was when the clouds completely cleared out. More from the session to follow.

It's neat to be in a community where members support each other with their compliments/constructive criticism, advice, ideas and data, whether it's their own or from online elsewhere. When you cannot get the image or observation someone else has your back and does! If they don't they find info online from a professional source about it. We are never WITHOUT a view here!!
