I see others have seen this prom from today as well. This is my first animation in 3 weeks so it was delightful to actually see a clear sky with some decent seeing! I have a number of images to process but started with this one. Lunt LS60T DS, ASI174MM, Meade 3X TeleXtender. 45 minutes in real time. It is highly sped up since the movement was quite delicate. You can see the attachment as a filaprom to the left.

Wow you got the filament as well, I'm about to start on a DS project for my Quark, I have a PST in the post that should arrive next week.

Fabulous animation Warren :hamster: :bow :movie this prom seems to be gliding round the north pole, it is very tall so I wonder if we will keep it in sight as it goes around the other side?

Thanks everyone, I was so glad I was able to catch this one. This animation also demonstrates the problem with tuning as everything cools way down due to the low temps during the captures. You can see the portion of the filaprom appear to dissipate when it is simply the etalons (I believe) going off band and losing contrast. I had the heater going on the blocking filter but the temps were around 28F so that still may be the issue that even with the heater the BF is the culprit.

I was wondering if the etalons need heating as well as the blocking filter. I get exactly the same problems as you :(

Glad (kind of) to hear I'm not the only one to notice this Alexandra. Since it is double stacked I would have to think about maybe dew strips around each etalon to keep them warm but then I'd worry about thermal currents in the scope as well.
