Jan 17 2023 - Go small or go home!

Post by Simon2940 »

I had to use my Esprit 100ED today as seeing was bad. It's been rain, clouds and freezing temperatures here in LA, but we have a clearing for a few days so I had to grab what i could get.

Simon.
I don't usually consider 100mm " small " but medium sized. But I guess that depends on what scope you usually use that is bigger.

Surprisingly I like the mono better than the color. The details stand out better. And the middle positive image is my favorite. All are great though!!

For me, anything around the 100mm and below is considered small - I guess you get spoiled when you have a 150mm and a 204mm.

I certainly would consider it small for a reflector or a deep-sky scope. I have 304mm, 251mm and 152mm reflectors that I use mainly for deep sky but a 102mm refractor is the biggest scope I have set up for solar use.

You might be a bit spoiled ;-)
