24th Jan. Sunspot changes

Post by JohnW »

24th Jan.
It has been interesting to follow the changes in sunspots over the last week. I have put together a string of my sunspot images since 16th Jan to 23rd Jan. The prominent group has been AR3190 - a large sunspot. All are single exposures with a Canon 550d attached to a WO 81 mm scope with herschel wedge. Activity will be high for this month (like December). Thanks for viewing. John W.

John,
These look really nice and follow the progression across the disc very well. I took your images and downsized them just a little and combined them into an animated gif in the way I often do using GONG Ha images. I hope you like!

James

John,
You do really good with the DSLR. I think you are only one of two here that uses one. I depart from the " norm " here a bit with the iPhone as well.

Thank you everybody for your comments. There must not be much time left before AR3190 disappears from the western limb.
Cheers, John W.

Nope. I probably got my last view of it today since tomorrow it will be on or at the SW limb and I have forecasted cloudiness. Hopefully it will hold together and make it back around to be renumbered as another active region.
