Short animation from yesterday Up 'n' Over uʍop ɹǝpun

Post by Peterm »

G'day all,

As Martin has already mentioned it has been a stinker of a hot weekend here in SE Queensland, Australia. We are about 455miles / 750km as the crow flies to the North of Sydney. Makes it really tough to get out there in the Sun and setup, the only saving grace is I can set my laptop etc up inside.

So here are the meager pickings from this weekend. The animation was captured UT 2023/01/28 03:30 to 03:59 and the 16 panel mosaic (432MM @F35) was captured the day before. High cloud had me drop many avi's otherwise this would have been an hours animation, some is still bleeding into the animation.

Oh well by Friday it will be 37C and maybe clear!

Image

Just added this slomo version. My eyes see a huge expanding bubble of plasma in that prominence. Will see how big that bubble is compared to Earth a little later.

Thanks for looking!

Hmmm... if my calculations are correct then the circular bubble or "The Blob" (just to the right and down from Earth) wins hands down!

Superb animation. The Earth scale certainly sets it all in context….speed and distance of movement.
