Hi,
Those who might have read my problems in regard to the fluctuating speed of my camera ASI 178MM.
Would an ASI Air from ZWO solve my problem ? As far as I know the ASI Air accepts a SD card onto which I could download my SER files and them just transfer them to my main PC.
Anybody using successfully an ASI Air together with Solar imaging ?
Thanks Rainer

Re: ASI Air from ZWO
I use and ASIAIR for the night sky (really very easy and good to use) but I don't think it can operate a large chip at a high frame rate except at HD video size so I suspect it would not be suitable for solar. They have tried to make it have a planetary video option.

Thanks. The point here is that when acquiring the video for a SHG a ROI is used and in my case that would be 2000 x 100 pixels maybe even less in height.
I will ask ZWO to see what the think.

Re: ASI Air from ZWO
I was thinking about ASI Air only for solar and planetary imaging and not DSO, but many suggested or recommended me to not buy ASI Air because i have also non ZWO cameras in my collection, so their points is that what the point to use this ASI Air for half tools i have while a mini pc will be used with them all or compatible with them all.

I notice that Christian Buil's Solex setup has gone "full ZWO": AM5 mount, ASI AIR, EAF electronic focuser, ASI178MM camera. There's even a ZWO helical focuser at the camera.

Hi,
That ZWO AM5 mount is starting to itch my fingers.
