Images from yesterday 14 February 2023
The clouds hung around until the afternoon resulting in the expected poor seeing conditions. Average seeing 3.6 arc seconds with a standard deviation of 0.7. So we only took a couple of full disk images to see what was going on. We are late processing this meager amount of data due to me (Clare) having a fall afterwards that resulted in a broken arm and not getting back from the hospital until very late. This means that I am typing this very slowly with my left hand!
Ha full disk is again a 2 panel mosaic. Full disk in 393nm Seeing data

Superb pictures.
I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Re: Images from yesterday 14 February 2023
Clare & Peter,
In most cases I prefer colorized images over monochrome but you have two exceptions here. Except for the flare in AR13226 which shows up better in the colorized image, I prefer the monochrome. Contrast and details are generally better. It's the same with the 393nm images. The monochrome more clearly shows the faculae with better contrast. The color images look good but the monochrome while not as pretty show more detail.

Geez Clare that is not good to read about your fall! Speedy recovery, well as best as an arm can heal I guess. A good yarn would have been the camara was just about to fall from the 'scope because Peter hadn't tightened it sufficiently and you threw your body on the line to stop it from hitting the concrete... you put yourself in arms way!
Anyways, these are good images despite the seeing, you captured the best that there was.

Our opinion for what it is worth is that there nearly always appears to be more detail in the monochrome version of images.

That's amazing, it's just like you were there and witnessed the whole eventPeterm wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 6:46 am Geez Clare that is not good to read about your fall! Your version of events is much more interesting than the reality of just tripping on your own shoe laces.
You would think that after so many years you would know better.
Thanks Peter.

Re: Images from yesterday 14 February 2023
Thanks Stu.
Unfortunately/ maybe fortunately the break is too high so can't be cast.
You are right though it is 6 to 8 weeks immobilised (honor system) in a sling.
I have to see a orthopedic surgeon in a week to see if every thing is still sitting in the right place, otherwise surgery.
So hoping for good news in a week
