Hi all,
A G3 geomagnetic storm erupted this afternoon, which I captured on my magnetometer here in the UK. Here are my data taken a 1s cadence to capture all the details.
At G3/Kp7 there's a good chance of seeing something of the aurora overnight if the activity level persists...and if the weather breaks to reveal clear skies. Of course, it could all just as easily fizzle out
Thanks for looking.
Stu.

Things 'pepped up' overnight with the G3 developing into a whopping G4.
...and in hi-res...
Too cloudy here to see anything of the resulting aurora. Hopefully some of you had better luck.

Hi all,
Managed to catch this event here close to Aberystwyth. If it makes you feel any better Alexandra, we were clouded out for the bigger event of 23-24th April. This movie is made up of jpeg frames, copied without any additional processing straight from the RAW images. The camera was tripod mounted Canon 70d with a 14mm w/a Samyang lens at 10 sec exposures on ISO 1600. Enjoy.
