Sun FD in H-Alpha on March 20th 2023.

Post by arnedanielsen »

Dear friends,

Late afternoon session after getting home from the office on March 20th. Just a short window of opportunity before the Sun disappeared behind neighbor's house. There was an interesting prominence so I decided to continue to record in H-Alpha for a possible timelapse instead of switching to CaK and Continuum. Will try to finish the processing for the timelapse shortly.

FD image in H-Alpha using a Coronado 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ASI 178mm mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.

Great photos of full disc. Detailed and sharp.

Thank you very much everyone!

Petrus: I have finally managed to process the animation, but unfortunately it was so little going on during the short recording that it's not worth publishing.

Best regards,
Arne
