Hydrogen alpha activity on 24.03.2023

If yesterday morning I tried, with no success, a full aperture shot of the Vixen VMC260L with the intention of immortalizing the granulation, during my lunch break I dedicated myself to our star in the h-alpha line.

The short free time available, made me lean towards mounting the etalon directly on the 120 ED, equipped with a 104 mm frontal ERF and etalon borrowed from the good Lunt LS50T Ha with his B600 blocking filter.

I used the ASI 178 MM after a Televue barlow brought to about 1.4x.

This caused me heavy Newton rings that I managed to eliminate through the miraculous flats of Firecapture (which didn't always give me joy, on the contrary).

The results leave me largely satisfied, perhaps for the first time since I have taken the Sun in this line of the spectrum.
