Hi
Suffering from this problem.
Taping on a elbow addapter on the the Prom works.
But not on the Chromo. Even pushing a bit of UK plastic milk bottle between the round end of the plug and the etalon body.
I went back and tried my Samsung Tab8 power supply and the plug on that is a good fit and gets to temperature. With the above bodge.
I tried all my power leads and just one other worked, a white one again.
I have ordered a 2m long Samsung Tab8 replacement lead to see if that works.
Looks like the black ones are made down to a price.
Cheers. Andrew.

Re: Quark Plug failure to contact
Sadly this issue will be the death of many a good Quark with time.
The USB power supply is just a ridiculous design idea in terms of longevity.

Re: Quark Plug failure to contact
Repairing the Quark's USB connector is a pain, but not difficult. It only requires hot air and a bit of soldering paste skill. I've already repaired two and it's a half hour job. It is better to replace the micro USB with another connector, even if the aesthetics suffer a little.

Re: Quark Plug failure to contact
Hi
Temporary fix. Thin plastic shoved in on the shorter side of the plug between it and the housing.
One works again, fortunately the more used Chromo, with a decent plug from a Samsung Tablet charger. So taped that on.
The Prom works with a cheap elbow connector taped on which makes the contact good.
Cheers. Andrew.

Do you have any photos of this procedure? Would be good to know how to do it in the event of USB plug failure.

Re: Quark Plug failure to contact
I don't have photos. It's a routine procedure. The Quark must be disassembled, carefully remove the original connector with hot air, and then solder a new one using solder paste. It is better to solder only thin flexible wires and use a different connector. The wires are brought out through the opening of the original connector.

Re: Quark Plug failure to contact
I purchased a right angle plug and am going to zip tie it to the housing.
