Hi,
This time of the year 2024 April, is going to be even more dangerous as Mexico will have elections in June 2024, if the Mexican president has not killed all institutions and already declared himself as a Dictator.
So I would at this time advise not to travel to Mexico ...
Sorry Folks and this is really a pity ... better Safe and then Sorry

How about now? I'm planning a honeymoon and thinking of booking a flight and a hotel somewhere in a picturesque place in Mexico.

What do you understand of a Picturesque place ? I assume you want to travel around Mexico too ...
So you think that after three months I wrote the original post it has already gotten better having still the same Guy as president ?
Better spend your hard earned money somewhere else ... but not in Mexico ...
Sorry not being able to give you a better advice but it is always your decision and if you think you miss something not visiting Mexico well maybe yes ... but ...

Hey there, I'm new to this forum, and I just wanted to thank you for sharing your concerns about traveling to Mexico during the Total Solar Eclipse in 2024. It's important to consider all factors when planning a trip, including safety and political stability. I actually planned a family trip to Mexico. Besides, I recently discovered a website that offers amazing deals on business class flights, which can be a game-changer for long-haul flights. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your thoughts and concerns about traveling to Mexico in 2024. Stay safe, and keep us updated on any updates or changes in the situation.

Re: Total Solar eclipse 2024 and travel to Mexico
Hy, I live in Mexico City and some of my relatives live in Monterrey and Torreón, this city (Torreón) is one of the best cities to observe the eclipse in the world, and if you fly to Monterrey from US or Europe and drive to Torreón is less than 2 hours, the security in this part of Mexico is very good, the problem will be to get a hotel room, everybody is going to be there from april 5 to 9, I traveled 3 times in this year to Torreon and Parras and there is no problem to tavelers and tourists.
