Post-flare loops 13 May

Post by Davidm »

I hadn't realised there had been an eruptive prominence when I started imaging but noticed some post-flare loops in the full disk image (these can be seen a bit better at full size). This was of course the point when the clouds rolled in with intermittent rain showers, so there were only a couple of brief windows in dodgy seeing to try to capture the loops in a bit more detail.

Fantastic photos.

Great catch. Was it Lunt 152?

Yes, the loop shots are the 152 with a 3.5x barlow. The full disk is a DS Lunt 60.

Yes, I am in Perth. Generally pretty good weather here for solar observing though spring and autumn are a bit variable.
