Dear friends,
Here's a 2 hours 1 minute FD timelapse of the Sun in H-Alpha created from 349 recordings between 07:46 and 09:47UT on May 17th 2023. Each recording was 15 seconds long with a framerate of 100 (1500 frames) and 5 seconds delay between each recording.
The recordings where obtained using a FD image in H-Alpha using a Coronado 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ASI 178mm mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest.
The 200 best frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!3 before they were aligned, sharpened and contrast stretched in ImPPG.
The frames was then cropped and the animation was created in PIPP at 15fps effectively compressing the 2 hours 1 minute of duration down to just 23 seconds.

Best regards,
Arne

Fantastic animation.
I marvel at the perfect image. The sun rolls like a ball.

I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.

Thank you so much for your kind comments Mark, Maurits, Clare & Peter!
I'm enjoying the Sun as well... falling more and more behind on the processing though. Recorded another 4TB of data today.
Best regards,
Arne
