1st SHG and proms of the day June 1st 2023

Post by ChrisHalpha2017 »

Hello,
today i've decided to go a go at iNTI from Christian BUIL with SolEx.
So I tried iNTI with my spectro-coronagraph... Here are the first results that for once looks like the current sun :)

Also the nice prominence of the day with the spectro coro

and 2400 lines /mm : the doppler effect show the spicules and the velocity of the different parts of the prominences.

Here it can be clearly seen that a part of these prominences is arching over the chromosphere . The 2400 lines gives (in this case more information about the little prominence on the left )

Hi Chris,

Excellent. Do you have different disc sizes or do you move the disc in and out according to the Sun size.

Where is the disc exactly placed ?

Hi rsfoto

I have different sizes but as there is no motor its best not to use a disk that matches the sun perfectly : otherwize keeping the sun hidden becomes very hard as it will have to be more precise (wich is almost impossible by hand).

"Where is the disc excatly" : have a guess....:) everything was explained in the link I posted about the making of a spectro-coronagraph. It's also the same of every spectroscope.
