June 5 2023 Observations. SUNoculars.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

This afternoon I have mostly cloudy skies which were totally overcast all morning. I used my little Lunt 8x32 white light 8x32 solar binoculars through thin clouds and small cloud free gaps. The session occurred around 16:25 UTC and the temperature was 73F ( 22.7C ). I am back home in Edneyville N.C. today.

Six active regions are visible on the photosphere with the little binos today. Three in the northern hemisphere and three in the southern hemisphere. All labeled.

AR13326 is visible in the NE quadrant. I can also see faculae just east of the spot! I however cannot see the small spot within the faculae that the GONG and SWL images show. Now across the CLM in the NW quadrant I can see a single spot marking AR13320. Despite it's small size I can see with difficulty the single tiny spot marking the position of AR13325 in the NW quad. It lies just west of AR13320.

The big single spot of AR13321 lies at or close to the the CLM in the southern hemisphere and is very easily seen. To it's ENE lies AR13323 in which I can pick up three spots with certainty. A fourth is marginal. The spots are arranged in a bent line in the SE quadrant. The new AR13327 is visible in the SE quad near the limb. It's visible as two tiny spots within faculae!

It's Monday yet again. Work comes shortly. :-(

James
