Better than 1600, I'd expect?
Why do you consider 533 to lack in DR, it has one and a half stop more at 0 gain, if I am not mistaken.

Excellent results as we have come to expect from your work.

However, the very obvious increase in contrast, with Double Stacking, suggests a coarsening of detail, a roughening of the overall surface texture and considerable loss of dynamic range. e.g. The flaring seems overblown and the filaments are considerably broadened in DS.

Am I badly mistaken? This is not remotely meant as a criticism of your work. Which is always of the highest standard. It is more of a personal/subjective reaction to the first, comparison images placed side by side.
